115 S.W. 89th Way Coral Springs, Florida 33071 Phone:954.753.7957 Fax: 954.346.9517 alice@stainedglassinnovation.com What are bevels? Cold glass (usually clear, thick plate) whose edges have been ground and polished to an angle other than 90 degrees. Light is refracted and a prism-like effect results. How does a Glue-chip bevel get the textured design? Hot animal glue is applied to the top surface and is allowed to dry under controlled temperature and humidity conditions. As the glue dries and contracts, it chips the glass surface in a natural and attractive pattern, likened to frost on a window pane.
